A Bulgarian Pianist in London: Lach Stankov
Lach, originally from Bulgaria is a concert pianist based in London. He was born into a family of musicians, aside from his father who was a computer engineer and started going to piano lessons from 8 years old, despite his mother believing the Stankov family had enough musicians already. She felt Lach should follow in the footsteps of his engineer father.
Through a series of setbacks that made Lach question his path, he almost became a professional footballer but his brother convinced him to audition to study in london. Remarkably, he was accepted to all four of London’s conservatories and chose to study at The Royal College of Music, completing his masters at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Lach says that his upbringing taught him a few valuable lessons in life; to be adaptable to whatever life throws his way, to never give up and to overcome failures with a smile. Now, Lach travels the world as a pianist. He overcame all the obstacles in his path and has fulfilled the dream he had as a young boy.
